Over the course of eight months, two reporters from The Times studied lead poisoning and exposure in Trenton and throughout Mercer County. Together, the writers spent countless hours with families, school officials, health experts, community organizations and state agencies to analyze the scope of the problem in New Jersey.
The findings are disturbing.
